So your looking at buying a used bike, Here are a few things to take note of:

Always remember there ARE plenty of bikes to choose from, Buying a new bike is an exciting time but keep your head on. If there is anything suspect with the bike or seller, walk away, remember you will more than likely be in a position to sell the bike at some point and could end up with trouble selling it. Also remember that if the bike is stolen and the police find out, the police can take the bike off you and you will end up out of pocket and in trouble.

CHECK, CHECK, CHECK - Every bike from new should have had a manual and possibly a spares kit. Not many bikes will still have the spares kit, but there should be a manual. If not, Why not? Is there a receipt of purchase from new or any of the previous owners. Every bike has a history so try to find out as much as possible before you part with your cash.

Frame and engine numbers are virtually impossible to exactly replicate, check against other bikes you have been to look at or for pictures on the internet. Remember frame and engine numbers are stamped on a machine so they should look accurate.

Take note of the seller. Never buy from anywhere but the sellers home address. If the seller is a motocross rider you should be able to tell, do they have the essentials for riding, do they have the essentials for running the bike? Take note of how the bike is being stored, does the seller have a good knowledge of the bike, does the seller seem like a motocross rider?
