Realistically unless you have a huge budget for security measures, a thief will steal most bikes, but with a few cheap security measures you can make it very hard for them to steal from you without being caught or scared off. Here are a few things you should be aware of.

A thief will break or damage anything, they don’t care about your property! The key thing is to make everything strong. When you secure your bike think of things that will cause problems and take the thief longer to get in or steal from you.

Try to get an alarm that will trigger at the earliest stage in the thief’s route to your bike. Alarms can be fitted easily and on a low budget these days. The better the alarm the more chance there is of the thief being caught, but any alarm is better than non. The whole idea is to make a loud noise and raise the alarm for you or your neighbors to disturb the thief, and even the cheapest of alarms will do that! Baby Monitors are also a cheap and effective way, have one where the bike is, and one by your bed! But makesure it is out of site!!

Remember a small investment in security is better than a large loss because you weren’t secure!
